Collaboration with Moritz Pitrowski.For this project I was in charge of the technical engineering of the ceramic surface printing machine. A technique was developed using a UV sensitive coating on ceramic surfaces plus an array of UV LED's designed to expose images onto the surface of curved ceramic objects. This was created using a LED array exposing line segments of an image as well as a rotating platform synchronized with the exposure time, the machine generates a full 360 degree image exposure on ceramic surfaces from any bitmap loaded onto the software I designed.
Along with the hardware I developed a software interface for usability.

The exposing unit was made up of 42 UV LED, mounted on a custom made PCB containing two PWM multiplexer in order to use a simple arduino microntroller to do the programming. The softawre made via processing, parse the bitmap/jpg data's onto a vertical array, calculating the intensity/pixel. The user plateform can allow to controll the exposure time and the spacing between two exposed collumns.
